Chord Runner Project Blog

I made a simple project about music and hand movements. Project report, source code and execution details are in the project repository. As a result I will just talk a little bit about my personal experience with the project in this short post. But first here is the demo video of it:

Ancient Fax Machine Editorial

Last semester I was a student assistant for the CMPE 250 course at Boğaziçi University. Subject of the course is data structres and algorithms. As the student assistants our role in the course was preparing the projects that will be assigned to the students and grading the submissions made by the students. For this post I want to talk about the solution of this project and how I expected a student, or you the reader, to solve it.

Super Meat Boy 100% (Why do I play challenging games?)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

What the title says. I just finished up Super Meat Boy 100% (to some extent). This was a long time side quest. And by long time I am talking about like 6 years. There were times I never played it and there were times I focused on the game. But finally I did it. Steam claims I played a total of 96 hours. But it is well above 100 since I played a lot when I was offline. To someone unfamilliar with the game this number might not make sense. So let me tell you about the game a bit.

Coursera Machine Learning Course (A few words on not following lectures?)

I just finished the Machine Learning course on Coursera. Which is available for free. If you want a certificate you can pay for the course as well. But I personally didn’t. (Here is a post on the topic of paying for online courses. I do not want to discuss this here since this was my first online course.)

Splitter Critters Review

Splitter Critters is a puzzle game released on Steam last month. I just finished playing it. (There are some extra levels I did not play yet, but I figured I can write about the game anyway.) It has only 5 reviews on Steam at the time of writing and I think this is a much lower attention than what this game deserves.

Carian Trail (Day 3)

Previous

I woke up around 8 AM because of the heat. Sun was above so even though it was cool outside it was very hot in the tent. I wanted to enjoy my Barbunya Pilaki outside watching the view but bugs did not leave me alone so I had to have my breakfast inside the tent.

Carian Trail (Day 2)

Previous | Next

I woke up around 9AM and ate some of the snacks I brought with me from Istanbul. Packing up the tent took some time since I was tired from the last day. And a minute after I started walking I ended up in a place where I could see 5 different walkable trails and no waymarks. Even with the help of GPS it took some time for me to find the correct path. This part of the trail had really great views all over. I took a few pictures.

Carian Trail (Day 1)

Next

On April 14th I flew to Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) to do something I wanted to do for a long time. Walking a trail/camping alone, even for a few days. I picked a segment of Carian Trail and decided to walk as long as I can. I just found time to write a blog post about my short journey. Though I am not experienced in the subject I will also try to give some advice from my personal experience for anyone considering doing a similar trail since there is not much content out there about it.

Link to the offical webpage where you can find details of the entire trail.

Ways of Hearing Podcast Review

I just finished listening to Ways of Hearing from Radiotopia’s Showcase on a bus ride. I try to fill my commute time with something. And for the last 1.5 years that something were podcasts. I started and finished quite a few series and following a few as soon as a new episode drop. Though I might one day write a short essay about how a great medium podcasts are, for now I will talk about Ways of Hearing.
